The site features several buildings designed with a classical look including one based on the Colosseum in Rome. The wharf also has several hotels such as the 4-star Harbourview Hotel Macau, exhibitions halls and shops.
History
First opened in 2005 on a trial basis and officially opened in 2006, Fisherman's Wharf (Doca dos Pescadores) was originally a theme park with various rides including a rollercoaster.
Nowadays it operates solely as a commercial and entertainment zone with a marina, a convention and exhibition centre, hotels (the Legend Palace, Rocks Hotel and the Harborview Hotel) as well as the large Babylon Casino on site.
The Colosseum replica hosts concerts and other performances.
Food
In terms of food choice and selection, visitors can wander down and sample everything from Japanese to Chinese Hot Pot to Thai.
Other delicacies on offer include Cantonese, French, Korean, Portuguese, and vegetarian.

The location is only a short five minute walk from the main Macau Ferry Terminal and heliport. Fisherman's Wharf is directly opposite Sand's Casino which is a short three minute walk away.
By bus take any of the following: 1A, 3, 3A, 3AX, 10, 10A, 10B, 10X, 12, 17S, 28A, 28B, 29, 32, 56, 102X, AP1, N1A.
Other attractions in Macau include Senado Square and other UNESCO heritage sites such as the Dom Pedro V Theatre, Macau Cathedral and St Lawrence's Church.

Tip: A cheap / fast way to get from Beijing to Macau is to fly from Beijing to Shenzhen and then take a coach to Hong Kong. The flight from Beijing to Shenzhen is considered domestic and therefore much cheaper compared with flying to Hong Kong direct. - Buses and taxis are the major modes of public transport in Macau. Pedicabs are also available for sightseeing. Macau drives on the right, like the rest of China, except Hong Kong.
- Visas: most passport holders of Western countries receive a free 30 or 90-day visa on arrival. To re-enter China requires a multiple entry Chinese visa, or a valid single/double entry visa.
