The UAE Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo in 2010 had a capacity of 450 people. The building was designed with sustainability in mind; the northern facade was designed to be porous, letting in natural light while the southern facade was more solid to reduce sun exposure. Inside, the pavilion showcased the UAE's rapid urban development and culture through high-tech films, including a "Dream Journey" film. The pavilion was designed to be easily taken down and relocated, and it was indeed moved to Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi after the Expo concluded.
