Ming Tombs, Beijing, China
The Ming Tombs are a collection of mausoleums built by the Chinese Ming dynasty (1368-1644) for thirteen of its emperors and their empresses, located about 50 km north of Beijing in the Tianshou Mountain area. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, they are a well-preserved example of traditional Chinese feng shui principles and imperial funeral architecture spanning over 40 square kilometers.
