Mongolian Ger

Take a train from Beijing to Ulaan Baator and spend some time in a Mongolian ger or yurt. A Mongolian ger is a traditional portable dwelling made primarily from wood, sheep's wool felt, and animal hair ropes, designed to be easily assembled, dismantled, and transported by nomads. It features a wooden lattice wall (khana), straight roof poles (uni), and a central crown wheel (toono) coverable by felt for insulation or ventilation.
