Jing Shan Park Peonies, Beijing, China
Jingshan Park (景山公园) is located across the road from the north entrance to the Forbidden City. Wanchun Pavilion is the highest point of the park, providing stunning, 360-degree views of the Forbidden City and Beijing's central axis. The site is known as the place where Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty took his own life in 1644. It is located immediately north of the Forbidden City's Shenwumen (Gate of Divine Prowess) and originally served as a private, exclusive garden for the royal family during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
