Historic Qianmen Street is now pedestrianized and packed with shops and restaurants. The bustling street is populated by buildings whose designs and layout still resemble those found in the late Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). Qianmen Street is also known as "Dashilan" shopping street and is one of the oldest and most well-known shopping districts in Beijing.
