The National Arts and Crafts Museum, on the fifth floor of Parkson department store, is a place for collecting and displaying contemporary Chinese ethnic art.

It opened in July 1990; with its title inscribed by Deng Xiaoping. Construction of the museum is a successful combination of traditional architectural style and modern decorative art infused with rich Chinese national color.

It looks like a flower in bud from afar. The museum consists of an entry hall, show hall and treasure hall. The entry hall wall is embedded with a huge mural named Xingshan Shenzhou engraved in bronze; it shows the accomplishment of Chinese arts and crafts over the past 5000 years.

The display hall exhibits Chinese art and crafts including jade, ivory carving, wood carving, stone carving, pottery, lacquer work, jewelry, enamel, tin ware and copper products.

Beijing Fuxingmen Parkson Shopping Mall 北京复兴门百盛

Parkson is a famous Malaysian department store brand. Parkson China opened its first department store, Fuxingmen Parkson, in Beijing in 1994 aiming to serve consumers from the middle and middle-upper income brackets. Fuxingmen Parkson located on Beijing's financial street, mainly retails fashionable clothing aimed at all age groups.

Parkson's shopping environment offers cozy sofas and even provides mothers with candy for free to coax a smile from their babies. Access is easy as Parkson is close to the entrance to the subway station or there isa large car park on the third underground level. The fifth floor has the National Arts and Crafts Museum (see above) so this is another option for non-shoppers while they wait for you to finish shopping.

Caoqingqing Hot Pot 草菁菁时尚火锅

The white tables and chairs interspersed with natural greenery from potted plants make this hot pot restaurant look smart and up-market. The table ware oozes quality with its fine designs. The bowls and trays are engraved with different patterns and made into flower shapes. Diners have their own hot pot to cook with at their table so they can season the hot pot according to their preferred flavor. The lamb has been transported from Inner Mongolia ensuring it is really fresh and tender. The beef is imported from Kobe in Japan and can be eaten lightly cooked with an especially delicious sauce. There are in fact many other delicious dishes as well. Park in front of the Parkson shopping center and ask the waiters to stamp on your receipt and you will get free parking for three hours.

China Numismatic Museum (National Coin Museum) 中国钱币博物馆

The China Numismatic Museum (National Coin Museum) is a state museum attached to the head office of the People's Bank of China. It prides itself on collecting, displaying, researching and publicizing coins. The first floor has a special display area exhibiting different specie. All sets of RMB specimens issued by the People's Bank of China are on display. Additionally you will also discover the National Coin Museum collects more than 100 overseas coins with the majority of them issued in the 19th century.

T.G.I. Friday's (Jinrong Street) 星期五餐厅 (金融街)
