Beijing Lu Xun Museum 鲁迅博物馆

Lu Xun (1881-1936) was a famous writer, ideologist and revolutionary most remembered for his great satirical story The True Story of Ah Q. Beijing Lu Xun Museum is the earliest biographical literary museum established in 1956 after the People's Republic of China was formed in 1949.

Lu Xun's former courtyard residence has been renovated and preserved as a museum with an exhibition hall nearby. The delightful small quadrangle with gray walls and wooden windows is an exact reproduction of Luxun's lifestyle at that particular time in China's long history. Lu Xun's manuscripts and furnishings are displayed in the exhibition hall along with a photo exhibition of the author's life.

The Lu Xun Xuan restaurant is east of the south gate of Lu Xun Museum.

Hualian Shopping Mall 华联商厦

There is an Olympic concession specialty store on the fourth floor. The food court on the top floor is one of the characteristics of Hualian. Hualian is opposite Wantong New World Commodity Transaction Center. If you are shopping in this area during the evening be sure to visit Wantong first as it is first to close while Hualian remains open until 9.30pm.

Chenchuanyue Restaurant 陈川粤大酒楼阜成门店

Dishes at Chenchuanyue are from Sichuan and Guangdong provinces. Sichuan food is spicy and occasionally numbing for some dishes; while Guangdong food is bland and sweet by comparison. There are 500 varieties of dishes cooked by the famous chefs from Sichuan and Guangdong. Chongqing hot pot and Sichuan local snacks are some of the specialties to be enjoyed at Chenchuanyue. Wufu Tea House 五福茶艺馆

This is the first modern style tea house in Beijing. The staff will give you explanations of tea-making as they brew and serve the tea. The environment is quiet and relaxing. Huguosi Snacks 护国寺小吃

Huguosi snacks are traditional Muslim foods of Beijing with a long standing history going back to temple fairs in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
