Yunnan Nationalities Village, Kunming 云南民族村
Yunnan Nationalities Village (Yunnan Minzucun) is located on the north east shore of Dianchi Lake in Kunming not so far south west of Green Lake Park.
Yunnan Nationalities Village provides a colorful crash course on Yunnan's diverse minority groups (26 in all) - from the tropical regions of the south to the highlands of the north, all set in expansive park-like grounds scattered with rare and beautiful plants and flowers.
Ethnic Groups
Ethnic groups represented include the Bai, Buyi, Dai, Lahu, Miao, Naxi, Pumi, Shuyi, Tibetan and Yi.
Yunnan Nationalities Village contains numerous smaller villages in individual ethnic style, plus regular singing and dancing events at various "theaters". There is a great range of ethnic handicrafts, jewelry and clothing for sale as well as an Elephant Show.
