The Bai people (白族 - Báizú) are a distinct ethnic minority group of over 2 million people, with the largest population (about 58%) concentrated in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. Historically linked to the ancient Nanzhao and Dali kingdoms, they are known for their unique culture, affinity for white clothing, vibrant traditional tie-dyeing, and distinctive "three rooms and one wall" architecture.
