Crossing the street in Beijing can be thrilling at times, and is sure to get your pulse racing. Local crossing signals reflect that excitement and danger.
As they near the all-important changeover, the crossing signals become progressively faster and insistent; as you can hear, traffic follows suit. Drivers rarely wait until the final, all clear green light. A high level of alertness and running shoes are advised.
