Giant Panda Breeding Research Base 成都大熊猫繁育研究基地

Located 8km northeast of downtown Chengu, the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is a great place to view both the giant and red pandas.

Founded in 1987, the Panda Base has around 80 giant pandas and other species of endangered animals.

For a fee visitors can be photographed with the animals and a museum on site provides information with English captions on the loveable animals.

Take bus #902 from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station to the Panda Base. Chengdu has flights most cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Dalian, Guangzhou and Lijiang. There are direct trains to Beijing, Kunming and Xian.
