Beijing West Station opened in 1996 and is China's largest railway station and monolithic in size. Trains for Vietnam, Tibet, Urumqi, Guangzhou and Hong Kong (Kowloon) leave from Beijing West Station. There are also rail services from Beijing West Station to Xi'an, Chongqing and Chengdu. Getting To Beijing West StationThe nearest subway station serving Beijing's West Station is presently Junshibowuguan (Military Museum Station) on the East-West Line (Blue Line) just opposite the Military Museum, about 2km away. There are a number of buses that connect the two stations. Eventually Beijing West Station will have its own subway station on Line 9 and will also link to Beijing Station by underground shuttle one day. The foreigners' ticketing office is on the 2nd floor. Train tickets can be booked up to four days in advance and often your hotel can help you with advanced bookings.
