Beijing Sightseeing
Beijing has so much more to see than the "big three" sights of the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall. Any trip to China's ancient capital should take in a stroll in the city's hutong residential areas in the old city, as well some of the city's many refurbished museums and modern art galleries. Also don't forget Beijing has some excellent parks and gardens to unwind and relax after a busy day sightseeing.
Modern Beijing now offers many state-of-the art shopping malls and some stunning modern architecture - much of it built for the 2008 Olympic Games.
Echoes of Beijing's rich imperial past can be seen in the scores of temples whether Buddhist, Taoist or Confucian that still dot the capital - not to mention a number of old Christian churches.
